ArcaSAN

Use our ArcaSAN™ IP storage servers to run block based applications and databases (such as Oracle, Microsoft Exchange, SQL, etc.) from a single, consolidated, secure device on your network.  As all file systems are fully compatible with our appliance, add sophisticated DAS for anyone in your group who needs additional “local” storage, as if you were adding another hard drive to their system.  With our seamless expansion capabilities, scale from 3.6TB all the way up to 270TB with maximum utilization … you decide your current capacity needs, and simply add more storage when needed.  Or trade maximum capacity for maximum performance by use of one of our ultra high end 15K SAS versions.

Do all this, administered from a single point of management, and with a single source to backup.

Features

  • SAN Functionality

The ArcaSAN IP-SAN Target appliance includes advanced IP storage functionality such as the IP-Sec protocol to provide secure data transmission across the networks; multiple Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocols (CHAP) authentication schemes for each target to validate users and rights levels; Multi Path Input/Output (MPIO) Support to allow several simultaneous connections to any iSCSI target.

  • Snapshot Images

Snapshot Copy provides an immediate point-in-time image of the Logical Volume (LV). The snapshot image can be used for both consistent and temporary backup, ensuring that users still have uninterrupted and complete access to the LV. Also, if a user accidentally deletes or incorrectly modifies a file, that file can be recovered from a previous snapshot image. IPLogx SAN OS supports "Multi-Snapshot with Scheduling" to create snapshots at predefined points in time (e.g. automatically every hour) further automating your backup processes.

  •
  • Volume Replication for Disaster Recovery

IPLogx Volume Replication provides synchronous replication to copy critical company data to a secondary site in case of a disaster. IPLogx provides an extra layer of fault tolerance by mirroring two iSCSI target volumes. By allocating one iSCSI target as the primary data storage device and the second as a destination, data will synchronously be written to both iSCSI targets using a dedicated network connection. The primary iSCSI target will be replicated in real time, so that the data will be available if the primary storage system becomes unavailable. This advanced protection is pre-configured with our Duo ArcaSAN2, 6+, 10+ and 18 series appliances.

  • Storage Management

Storage array management is also configured directly through any local or remote web browser, as well as directly from the console.  Migrate RAID levels or add hard drives to expand LUN’s as needed, all without ever powering down.  Dual point notification via email is standard of any potential RAID issues such as a pending (via SMART) or failed drive.  SNMP monitoring of critical system components such as data throughput, and CPU/RAM usage are standard features.  There are no 2TB volume size limitations by the use of 64-bit LBA technology.

  •
  • Secure Upgrades with Shadowing

To optimize the upgrading process of the IPLogx SAN OS software, the ArcaSAN contains multiple shadow copies of the OS. In the event of an upgrade failure, the storage system can easily be switched to the former IPLogx software version.

  • UPS Support

An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) eliminates the effects of a temporary power outage and provides safe shutdown, without loss of data, in the event of power failure. IPLogx SAN OS supports Network UPS to ensure safe shutdown of all iSCSI targets in the network.

  •
  • Simple, Potent and Secure Browser based GUI

The powerful Graphical User Interface allows system management from any local or remote web browser within your network, secured with SSL (Secured Socket Layer) and several different management, user, and group rights levels.  Administrators can also access the ArcaSAN directly via the console if desired to initiate advanced volume manipulation, install drivers, monitor status, etc.

  • Network Management

Networking capabilities include fault tolerant, adaptive load balancing, or link aggregation through port teaming/bonding of multiple Ethernet ports; DHCP, Proxy, or Manual configuration; Gateway support; and connections through GbE and 10GbE (with Intel® I/O AT & TOE support), 2-8Gb Fibre Channel, and Infiniband.
