Features
-
Simple, Potent and Secure Browser based GUI
The powerful Graphical User Interface allows system management from any local or remote web browser within your network, secured with SSL (Secured Socket Layer) and several different management, user, and group rights levels. Administrators can also access the ArcaNAS directly via the console if desired to control volumes, install drivers, monitor status, etc.
-
Network Management
Networking capabilities include fault tolerant, adaptive load balancing, or link aggregation through port teaming/bonding of multiple Ethernet ports; DHCP, Proxy, or Manual configuration; Gateway support; and connections through GbE and 10GbE (with I/OAT & TOE support), 2-8Gb Fibre Channel, and Infiniband.
-
NAS Functionality
In mere seconds, simply create and/or resize any number of Virtual Volumes with a simple click of your mouse button whenever needed for any division or department in your company. Protect your data with scheduled automatic Snapshots to create regular point-in-time backups of your volumes. A myriad of additional NAS functionalities include protocols such as Common Internet File System (CIFS/SMB), Network File System (NFS), File Transport Protocol (FTP/SFTP), Hypertext (HTTP), and Apple Talk.
-
Storage Management
The storage array is configured and managed directly through any local or remote web browser, as well as directly from the console. Migrate RAID levels or add hard drives to expand LUN’s as needed, all without ever powering down. Dual point notification via email is standard of any potential RAID issues such as a pending (via SMART) or failed drive. SNMP monitoring of critical system components such as data throughput, and CPU/RAM usage are standard features. There are no 2TB volume size limitations by the use of 64-bit LBA technology.
-
Backup Needs
The ArcaNAS appliance can be configured to backup to physical tape libraries or as a Virtual Tape Library (VTL) for use with most major backup agents, such as Veritas Backup Exec, CA ARCserve, EMC Dantz. Alternately, you can synchronize files or volumes at the block level to another ArcaNAS appliance in a half-duplex or full duplex manner to satisfy your disaster recovery requirements.
-
Secure User Authentication
IPLogx NAS OS supports Access Control Lists (ACL), Windows Active Directory Service (ADS), Primary Domain Controller (PDC), Network Information Services (NIS), internal/external Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and User-Group ID Synchronization to leverage information about users, groups, systems and other resources stored in the Active Directory.
-
Anti-Virus Protection
IPLogx also has an integrated Antivirus software tool for scanning shares for viruses at predefined points in time. The Virus Definition Database can be updated and is stored on the NAS appliance. IPLogx NAS also supports Online Virus Scanning of files transferred via the SMB protocol.
-
iSCSI Initiator Support
IPLogx supports hardware iSCSI initiators and has a software iSCSI initiator to easily expand the storage capacity of the NAS appliance. New units and logical volumes can easily be added by connecting an iSCSI storage system to the appliance.
